Every line, accounted for

Each riddle line is quoted exactly as it stands in the edition named — hard-wrapped source lines are joined with a space, and part-verses are cut at a clause boundary and cited per line. No word is changed, added or reordered. Every author below died before 1955, so every text is public domain in Australia.
